UCE (spam) - The Get Rich Via eBay Come-on At least four or five times a day I get an e-mail promising that I can get rich from eBay if I'll buy a book, a CD, a video, etc. Now I suppose that there are some good hints in some of these, if the spammer actually delivers anything once you send in your money. But the real question is just how many people are going to make enough money at eBay to quit their jobs? And if the folks who want to sell you the book or coaching package are making so much money from eBay, why are they trying to get your money? Well the truth is that it is more profitable to send tens of thousands of e-mails out and sell a book of hints than it is to really work eBay and make a fortune there. And most likely the people most likely to profit by your purchase of a coaching kit are the spammers who will keep flooding others with this offer week after week. Now if you really do want to learn how to use eBay to make money, do you really need to answer a spam e-mail to get the scoop? Nope. You need instead to go visit: http://pages.ebay.com/sitemap.html?ssPageName=h:h:smap:US where you'll find loads of links to information direct from eBay on how to sell and buy. And eBay offers its own courses online for a lot less than the coaching kits. Remember spammers stay in business when you click on spam e-mails and buy something. Oh and if by chance you happen on the Ben and Jerry's Flavor Graveyard link and are disappointed, try this URL instead: http://www.benjerry.com/our_products/ flavor_graveyard/departed_flavors.cfm Website Goof of the Week http://www.chieftecusa.com/ This company may make extreme gamer computer cases, but its website lacks the same attention to the basics. Note in the screenshot below that none of the images had alternative text tags. Due to coding problems none of the images appear and without the ALT text, the site is unusable. This particular website's images have not been displaying correctly for well over a week and apparently nobody noticed. The moral of the story is that if you are the webmaster, you need to check your website to see whether it is working properly. Better yet, you should test your code on a test server before putting it into production. ![]() Awesome Flash Presentation of Views from the Hubble Telescope http://wires.news.com.au/special/mm/030811-hubble.htm News.com.au has put together a moving and interesting presentation of pictures taken from the Hubble Telescope.
