Are You Qualified to Use the Internet?
Examination Question:
Answers: This is the answer section of the exam. You can use the following information for study.
1. Yes - I don't need to do anything I'm good to go
Try Again - Most likely the anti-virus program has not been activated yet. You must activate the program and run the updates before it is of any value at all.
2. No - First I need to run the update
Try Again - This is a good start, but not enough.
3. No - I need to schedule regular updates and I have to renew it
Try Again - Now you are cooking with gas, but this is still not enough.
4. No - My trial version expires in 3 months
Try Again - After the trial period most programs quit automatically updating or simply won't update. You need to buy the full version and run the updates immediately. After that make sure you have a schedule for updates. Twice a week is recommended.
5. No - I need to do everything in items 2 through 4 above
Try Again - True - you do need to do all of these things, but you still are missing something.
6. No - Sometimes new malicious programs attack before an update is available
Best Answer - You are always vulnerable. The best thing you can do is cut your losses by eliminating 99% of the risk. You must always be aware the new worms and viri programs can and do attack suddenly and spread rapidly. If in the hours before a patch is available, you are exposed to an attack, you may be a victim if you have bad computing habits. Most malware depends on you to initiate the malicious program. You can reduce your risk by not opening attachments and by not clicking on anything in a spam e-mail.
