If you have one of the wonderful new widescreen TVs and are thinking about using it as a computer monitor, finding the right information on how to hook things up can be daunting. ATI now offers a DVI HDTV adapter that works with some of its video display cards. If you have an ALL-IN-Wonder R8500, R9500, R9600, R9700, or R9800 card, the adapter provides component video feed for your widescreen. ATI advertises that with component video output, it supports some (but not all) common widescreen resolutions.

Hooking up to a an HDTV isn't without problems and if you are a gamer, you may want to dig a little deeper. If so, I would recommend the helpful article at:

Be aware that many widescreen vendors warn that the monitor can be damaged, if you don't hook things up correctly and any damage you do is probably not covered by warranty. You might want to check with the manufacturer before hooking up as a precaution.
